Bali Mandira on "Eat, Stay and Play"

Mahlia Simpson

We are pleased to announce that we had very important visitors last week. A team from TV show “Eat, Play & Stay”, an award-winning show hosted by Mahlia Simpson on Fox Australia (Foxtel), was here to release a short documentary about Bali Mandira Beach Resort & Spa.

The TV team filmed everything – from rooms, cuisine and surfing classes to Balinese shows and Glow Spa. From the kitchen they have tasted our lobster Thermidor, Gazpacho Soup, Balinese Sate, Chocolate Moelux, Chocolate Bavaroise and Hawaian Chicken Salad.

So, dear Australian friends, be aware! The “Eat, Stay & Play” show, presenting Bali Mandira and two other Balinese resorts (Pulmann Hotel and Sentosa Villas), will be aired live soon (with some re-runs) on Fox Australia (Foxtel) Channel 183. After that, the movie will be available on Youtube, here on the blog and on the website.

Temple's anniversary

The odalan (birthday) of Bali Mandira’s Padmasana Temple took place on October 11th.  Every temple in Bali has a regularly scheduled festival, the odalan, to celebrate the anniversary of temple dedication, which following the lunar calendar, occurs every 210 days. Padmasana Temple from Bali Mandira Beach Resort & Spa is one of the 20.000 Balinese temples around the island.

Our staff have started the preparation three days before by cleaning the area, decorating the temple preparing penjor (bamboo decorations) and offerings. On Tuesday October 11th, all Hindus employees gather for the praying led by The Priest. They have prayed together for harmony and blessing for all of us by The Almighty.

Bali Mandira OK!

Dear friends,

We’re all fine after yesterday’s earthquake. The hotel wasn’t affected at all, and our guests and employees are OK. We are fully operational and no damage has occurred anywhere in the hotel. We just had a twenty seconds rock and roll shake. The Gods are still protecting Bali. That’s why it is called “The Island of Gods”, right?

We thank you all for your worries and good thoughts.

Lovable memories

We stayed at the Mandira 16 years ago, and took our photo albums from our honeymoon to show Adi, Padmi and Geoff and they all laughed at how much the place had changed. The Bar was in a different spot and the adults pool wasn’t there.

Our time in June this year for my 40th Birthday was so wonderful! We loved how ALL the staff, including cleaners, gardeners and all as they were so very friendly, even just to say good morning and smile at us. It was always such a relaxing perfect holiday and we hope to return again next June 2012 and stay at Bali Mandira.

Thank you to everyone and I miss Padmi very much!

Regards

“Hello to my favourite hotel in the world!

“I have been coming to you for over 20 years now – I don’t stay anywhere else, and from age 2! I’m now 29 and I recently brought my lovely boyfriend to Bali Mandira for his very first time in Bali. Here are some pictures of our time.

Thanks again, I will see you next year for my 30th birthday which will also be my 20th visit to Bali Mandira!”
